Agile coaching is a profession that helps teams and organisations adopt Agile practices and values, enabling them to be more flexible, transparent, and efficient. As an Agile coach, you will be able to train other leaders, foster a culture of openness and psychological safety, and lead by example. Our training is based on the experiences of training and mentoring Agile coaches since 2008.


Designed by key thought leaders who defined the discipline of agile coaching, the Agile Coaching certification verifies an understanding of the tools, skills, and techniques needed to coach agile teams.

With 35 years of experience spanning Europe, Australia, South Africa, the U.S., and Asia, he has worked across a diverse range of industries, from technology and consulting to telecommunications and finance. Holding certifications as a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), Certified Team Coach (CTC), Accredited Kanban Trainer (AKT), and Flight Levels Guide (FLG), Russell specialises in coaching leaders, teams, and organisations to create sustainable change. His background combines deep technical expertise with hands-on leadership, having worked with global firms such as Microsoft, McKinsey, Agile42, and Deutsche Telekom. Throughout his career, Russell has held a variety of roles, from software development to leadership and board-level positions, giving him a broad perspective on the challenges organisations face. His work extends beyond frameworks and methodologies, focusing on systemic coaching, leadership development, and cultural transformation. He helps organisations move beyond process mechanics to foster true business agility, enabling them to thrive in an ever-changing environment. ICAgile does not have any prerequisites, but occasionally a training provider may have their own. Please check the training provider’s website to see if there are specific prerequisites for the class you are interested in.

Through the accreditation process, ICAgile verifies that every training provider assesses student knowledge before the student earns a certificate. Assessment may be completed through in-class activities, group exercises, or an exam, as determined by the training provider. Please contact the training provider to find out if an exam is required to earn a certification.

Once you have earned an ICAgile-accredited certification, the certification is yours to keep. We don’t charge any renewal fees or require continuing education credits. We want you to be able to invest your time and resources into continuing your learning journey.
