When Chrysavgi “Chrysa” Sklaveniti transitioned from academia to consulting, she embraced it as a new chapter in her learning journey. As an experienced professional, she held fast to her belief in continuous development and sought out structured training and professional certifications to continue enriching her skills. This commitment reflects her forward-thinking approach and her desire to expand her perspective, push boundaries, and transform her own growth into greater impact for others.

Why Instructor-Led Learning Mattered Most

While evaluating training options, Chrysa looked for agile training that went beyond technical roles and addressed the business side of agility. She also sought out instructor-led classes. “I truly believe that learning is a relational activity,” she said. “Self-paced learning, like LinkedIn Learning, can be complementary. But at a certain level of expertise, I do see the value of having an instructor act as a mentor who can share knowledge, guide you, and navigate questions, challenges, and paradoxes.”

For Chrysa, ICAgile-accredited training provided by Agile Visa met all these requirements. An added bonus: ICAgile and Agile Visa provided structured learning journeys, which helped Chrysa create a professional development plan to grow her skills beyond a single class.

The six courses Chrysa has taken so far with Agile Visa have far exceeded her expectations. As an experienced trainer, Chrysa was initially nervous about what the instruction would look like in Agile Visa’s classes. She was happy to find that the classes were extremely engaging, highly applicable to her work, and provided the perfect blend of theory, examples, and hands-on exercises.

Applying Systems Thinking to Unlock Teams

The learnings quickly translated into her consulting practice. One standout example came during a period of system disruptions and power conflicts within a project. Drawing on systems thinking concepts from her Systems Coaching course, Chrysa guided her team to identify leverage points rather than getting stuck in organizational politics. This shift in perspective unblocked the team, strengthened collaboration, and earned her recognition from peers.

By applying insights immediately—sometimes the very next day—she reinforced her belief that continuous learning is essential for staying relevant and effective in her role. Her commitment has also influenced her teams, showing them that agility is about both organizational transformation and personal growth.

A Year of Learning Ahead

For Chrysa, ICAgile training has been more than certification—it has been a catalyst for professional renewal, equipping her with tools and mindsets that directly impact her teams and clients. Looking ahead, she has already mapped out a year-long learning journey. Next up: courses on leading agile teams and pursuing the ICAgile Expert in Enterprise Coaching certification. Her story is a reminder that even experienced coaches thrive when they commit to being lifelong learners.
